WCPA's new Cookbook is titled Encore! It is dedicated to Anne Relph whose vision it was to create the Westcliffe Center for Performing Arts, which brings live theater and music, Creativity Camp for children, youth theater productions, summer Shakespeare productions, and first run movies to our community here in Westcliffe and Custer County. The cookbook also discusses the history of the Jones Theater. All of the recipes come from local or locally connected people whether they are full time or summer residents. We have a special beef section from the local Custer County Cattle Women's association. In line with the diversity of our community we have vegan recipes, vegetable recipes, and lots of desserts, as well as everything in between!

One hundred percent of the proceeds from Encore! sales will go to fund the WCPA/Jones Theater. The book will be on sale for $15 at all WCPA events this summer.

The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts regularly provides summer internships for qualified drama students at its facility at the Jones Theater in Westcliffe, Colorado. Many former interns have said that it was the best summer experience they have ever had learning about the theater.

The interns participate in every facet of theater work. In addition, they work with local children for a two-week-long session of our summer Creativity Camp. Interns also will be involved in at least one main stage production: Shakespeare’s Love's Labour's Lost and/or King Lear.

Internships are available for four students and run nine weeks from May 13 through July 15. For additional information, please visit our Call Board.

Each season WCPA /Jones theater welcomes new actors, musicians, and costumers for our Shakespeare in the Sangres productions. There are always a number of small and sometimes larger roles to fill, especially for men. If you have always wanted to try your hand at acting in Shakespeare this is your chance. We also have a large costume shop but we always need volunteers to help choose, make or remake costumes for our productions. If this sounds like an interesting opportunity for you to get involved in these exciting productions, please email your availability, willingness, and experience, and we will be in touch.
