UPDATE: Movies at the Jones Theater

The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA) would like to update the community on the question of “when are movies coming back to the Jones Theater?” The short answer is, “Sorry, not yet, please continue to bear with us!” The longer answer is that we are experiencing technical difficulties with our projector that have so far involved multiple replacement parts, with concomitant supply-chain issues, as well as delays in getting service technicians to come to Westcliffe.

We thought we had the problems licked, and so with equal parts trepidation and anticipation we scheduled a showing of Top Gun: Maverick for the last two weekends in August. This would have been our first movie showing since March, 2020, and we were looking forward to it as much as anyone! Unfortunately, the Technical Difficulties Gnomes decided they were not yet done with us. We are currently awaiting the latest round of assistance from licensed technicians.

We are terribly sorry about the delay and the disappointment to our patrons. We would like to thank you for your continued support as we work through these challenges, and we will do our best to keep the public updated on our progress. In the meantime, we continue to have live theater and other events scheduled for the fall, including the Ten-Minute Play Festival, which will run the weekend of September 23-25 in conjunction with Arts Hullabaloo. For more information on that and other events, contact the WCPA Box Office at (719) 783-3004, email us at wcpa@jonestheater.com, or visit our website at https://jonestheater.com.
